Rick Altzi

I started to play bass when I was 16, and played in several cover bands until -97 when I joined Swedish metal band Sanity. After four years of bass playing I was asked to take over the lead singing since our singer quit the band. I did and it worked out well—hell, I even hit the right notes once in a while! :)
In late 2001 I was contacted by Treasure Land guitarist Jonas Hornqvist who asked if I would like to audition for lead vocals. The audition went well and we started to write songs for a new album, but the process was slow and we didn’t manage to finish what we started before I was contacted in 2006 by Olaf Lenk who asked if I was interested in joining At Vance. I went over to meet him and everything went well and the following summer we had a new album out. At this point I also quit Treasure land.
During 2007 and 2008 I sang
on a couple of project albums for my friends in Sandalinas and Frequency, but it was in 2007 that the events that led to today started
happening. I had been into Thunderstone for a while when I heard news that they
had parted ways with two of their members. I felt really sorry because I really
liked the band and contacted Nino to say that I hoped the band would keep
on delivering great albums despite the personnel changes. Nino said that this
was his intention and a couple of months later he asked if I would give it a
try and here we are! We have a great new album out and I’m really looking
forward to do some live shows to meet you all out there.
See you!
