Tour Diary part 4
Rock me Amadeus, Nurnberg, and Merzig

Another ’reunion’ waited for us in Vienna. It was the first time there for us in four years. The venue was tiny compared to the previous ones, but the great crowd made us forget it right away.

Last night’s bus party and the taste of Czech beer was still in our mouths, but even a hangover couldn’t stop the party on stage. From Vienna we headed towards Nurnberg and Hirsch which is a familiar venue for us from the Axel Rudi Pell tour in 2004. The Monday crowd was a bit sleepy but we still had a very good time, doing some ’ripaska’ on stage and telling the usual quality Thunderstone jokes.

Next day was very strange since the town of the show was changed at the last minute. Instead of Losheim we were playing in Merzig. On top of that the venue was changed last minute too. However, despite the shortcomings, quite a nice crowd showed up. Our friends Alex and Vivian made sure that we were stocked with (terrible-tasting, might I add...) booze, and another party was on it’s way...

Virgin Diaries, part 2

It’s really great to be on my first tour abroad. My keyboards were destroyed in Italy and on monday I got some kind of an infection in my eye. Doesn’t matter. Now I’ve got a new board and medicines work. I can see and play again. ☺ Lots of fun. The greatest hangover of all times. Over and out.

Yours,
Jukka

Tour Diary part 3
Virgin Stories part 1!

We’re sitting in the bus, going from France to Spain. Last evening we performed in Paris in front of something like 150 people. That was the second biggest audience for me ever. The day before that in Lenzburg I had my first show outside of Finland ever, and the biggest one too. 800 people – quite big shit for me.

On the border of Switzerland we got stuck in customs and in the process a few parts of my keyboard stand got lost so in Lenzburg I had to perform with borrowed keys stand. That created a feeling of uncertainty in me and I think that it was visible in my performance. Despite that, it was a fucking great show for me – the greatest one so far, ever.

Yesterday we played in Paris. The venue was much smaller and the audience was too. On the way to Paris we found the missing parts of my stand and I felt like the happiest guy on the globe. Weird. Well, the show was a great success, at least playing-wise. I felt much more at home on the stage than the last time – no stress from weird equipment.

Yours,
Jukka the Tour Virgin
PS. Now I understand what the guys meant by “Mummola on wheels”.

PPS. If our German driver is not wearing a Finland -wool hat, he’s wearing a Jofa helmet. And that makes you think…

Tour Diary part 2
Great to be back in Spain and Italy!

From Paris we started our longest move towards Madrid and our first gig in Spain in four years. The Madrid audience was a bit sleepy, but we had a lot of fun still and met good friends Ix, Rafa and Burrito from Infernoise. During the night we also learned that somebody in the bus has a serious incontinence problem. We’ve tried to find male diapers ever since :)

The really ’funny’ part began after we started towards Barcelona. The bus broke down 90 km from Barcelona. Gladly some kind soul offered to take our gear to the venue so we could load in on time. The next worry was whether we would get the bus running on time to get to Milano. Luckily after the show the red devil was standing outside the venue, fully functional and smelly as always. The show itself was really good and it was great to meet all the old and new friends afterwards. Thank you! We were also looking forward to our first show in Italy for four years. Unfortunately the promotion hadn’t been very well organized and not too many people showed up. But, as always we had a lot of fun and I’m sure the audience enjoyed too. The sadder part came only afterwards when somebody dropped Jukka’s million dollar keyboard and broke it. We left Milano with a slight sense of dread, not knowing what was going to happen with the keys next day....

Novemberfest and Czech beer...

Thanks to Jukka’s pirate nature and tourmanager Kai’s quick actions, the keyboard problem was solved before we started soundcheck in Munchen. The keys were not the same so Jukka was looking more like a scared rabbit than ever, but the show itself turned out to be great. Even Tommi pulled off an excellent show even though his balls were hurting like hell before the show J.

Saturday brought us to Zlin in Czech Republic, our first time in the country. And it was definitely worth coming! The show was awesome, thank you for that! The only strange thing was that all of the bars ran out of beer when we came to the place. We definitely emptied Zlin from great Czech beer...

Tour Diary part 1
Right to the Point in Switzerland!

We’re sitting in the backstage of Paris’ La Boule Noire writing this, and-you guessed it-feeling hung over as hell. Well, to be honest, yesterdy was even worse because we flew to Hamburg a day early and that was of course spent in the usual Finnish Mayhem Way.

The good part was that we’re sharing the bus with Swedes Nocturnal Rites who also know how to have a
good time! We haven’t yet got to the playing sauna in the bus with them, but it will come...

The show in Lenzburg Metal Inferno IV was excellent! We had a great time there two years ago and relived the whole thing full force. The biggest difference was of course the fact that we had two new guys in the band,
who proved to be perfect. We had new energy on stage and the audience loved every moment of it. Thanks again for that! It was also great to see many old friends at the signing session.

More news from tour as the thing progresses. Miraculously nothing too perverted has happened yet, but we’ll come to that soon, we’re sure..
